Today is the birthday of Edward Henry Weston (March 24, 1886 – January 1, 1958) photographer, and co-founder of Group f/64.Most of Edward Weston's photographic work was accomplished using an 8 by 10 inch view camera. In 1937 he became the first photographer to receive the Guggenheim Foundation artist's fellowship. The New York Times newspaper reported on April 14, 2008 that Sotheby’s sold an Edward Weston photograph to a New York art dealer for $1.6 Million.
